GTN Excellence in Coaching and Leadership (EXCL) Program 2024
Overview
The Global Talent Network’s Excellence in Coaching and Leadership (EXCL) Program is designed for outstanding mathematics olympiad coaches and past olympiad participants to participate in an advanced training in problem solving and pedagogy in preparation for the International Math Olympiad 2024 (IMO), and be part of an excellent network of coaching leaders from around the world.
The training will run from Saturday, May 4 th , 2024 until June 29th, 2024 for a total of seven sessions. The sessions will involve coach training in mathematics problem solving and pedagogy, with a focus on combinatorics.
The foundation of a nation’s math program depends on the quality of its coaches. The EXCL Program aims to discover emerging talent in the mathematics olympiad coaching space and bring together a cohort of coaching leaders from around the world who are shaping the future of math programs in their countries.
Requirements
Applicants must have experience in coaching, training, or organizing mathematics competitions at the national, regional, or international level (e.g., IMO, APMO, PAMO, EGMO). Such experience can stem from work as a coach and from training camps or involvement in competitions as an observer, grader, coordinator, team leader, or deputy team leader.
Commit to participate in weekend training from May 4, 2024 to June 29, 2024, for a total of seven sessions on Saturdays and complete weekly assignments.
While we welcome applications from all regions, preference may be given to applicants from Africa, Asia & Pacific, Eastern Europe, Latin American & Caribbean, and the Middle East.
What does it Cost to Participate?
Participation in the GTN EXCL program is completely free.
When is the Program?
The EXCL Program will run from May 4, 2024 to June 29, 2024 in preparation for IMO 2024.
How do I Benefit?
Enrolled participants will benefit by receiving a world-class training in Olympiad coaching in combinatorics and by connecting with a network of coaching peers from different continents. In addition, participants who complete the program will receive a certificate of completion and a cash prize.
What does it Cost to Participate?
The EXCL Program is completely free.
Who Will be Providing the Training?
The training will be provided by a combination of GTN experts, including IMO medalists, team leaders for top countries, and world-class guest speakers.
